You Live and Learn

We are back triumphant from our first ever Spring Online event and what an interesting day it was.

We started our day with laptops set up ready to show any takers what they could achieve, and this we did….however what we had not expected was people walking through the door brandishing every size of iPad invented so far!

What we learnt was that people who might not have used a computer in the past have embraced the iPad (or tablet pc). “How can we send photos from the iPad using What’s App”, “How do I add photos to Facebook”, “Can I edit my email contacts” were just some of the questions being asked by our eager visitors.

Perhaps, however, our greatest success of the day was 85 year old Mrs Chapman who actually just came for a tour of The Abbey Centre. Having sat down and asked us what we were doing one of our Pimlico Academy helpers showed her a tablet pc and explained what it could do “It’s like magic” she exclaimed.

Would she be interested in future computer lessons she was asked “If I could use one of those” she said “I think I certainly would be”
